Volunteering
Equine Volunteers: Volunteers must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with and riding horses. Equine volunteers must be able to groom, exercise, and ride June Farm’s therapy horses following the farm protocol. Our equine team will also keep the stable and tack clean and organized. If you enjoy sharing your knowledge with guests, there will be plenty of educational and wellness events held at the farm that will involve the horses.
*Please note a helmet will be required while riding.
Animal Wellness: Do you find spending time with animals to be personally rewarding? If so, the animal wellness volunteer program may be an excellent opportunity for you! Our animal wellness volunteers will help with animal grooming, enrichment, and healthcare. Volunteer time will consist of various tasks such as grooming cows, brushing pigs, cleaning animal areas, feeding chickens, or even helping host a school group. Tell us which animal area appeals to you the most, or join us for training and see who you fall in love with! We adore our animals; their health and well-being is of the utmost importance to our farm team, and we know you can help.
We look forward to sharing our farm animals with you.
Naturalists: We are proud stewards of approximately 120 acres of forest and farmland. As we develop our nature trails and outdoor programs, we are looking for volunteers who know their way around the forest and aren’t deterred by the ever-changing upstate weather. We will be clearing trails and marking off running and walking routes. If you enjoy the outdoors but have experience with or prefer more passive outdoor wellness pursuits such as “forest bathing,” we would love to meet you too.
* All volunteers must complete a liability waiver and attend training before working independently in their chosen volunteer area.
